Writing practice

Digital technologies have vastly effected the way films are produced. From the Hollywood films from the 1920s to the sprawling multiplexes of today, the way films are made have fundamentally changed. Disney pioneered many of these technologies shifts, such as Steamboat Willie using sound in animation for the first time. Today, CGI is used by many film productions companions to both cut costs and create fantastical worlds. For instance, Avatar leveraged its high budget to create world- class special effects using a 3d camera, leading it to be the highest grossing film of all time. However, some have argued that an overeliance on CGI has led to films feeling artificial,. Famously, while filming the hobbit, Ian Mckellen broke down on set, despairing at the lack of practical effects that made early films so magical. While shang chi ustilsied a balance of CGI and practical effects to create a marvel blockbuster, Snow White revolutionized how technology was used in animation thereafter. For example, Shang Chi was nominated for best special effects, oscars with Wetter Digitals. This proves their horizontal integration is helping them succeed more as they have became a global conglomerate that have the option to choose the best out there. Unlike The hobbit, they didn't overuse green screens and actors still worked amongst eachother although it is argued that the special effects of the dragon and their power's took away from yhe authenticity of the film.
